Coming up:
• We are going to the pistol range on 17 July 2011. Meet at the Collinsville VFW at 1200 (noon) or at Winchester Range (Olin) at 1300 (1pm). Loaner pistols are available at the range. See http://www.winchestergunrange.com/ for more details and pricing.
• On 25 July 2011 there will be a Pampered Chef “Christmas in July Quarters Auction” with the proceeds being donated to Toys for Tots. Some great ladies are putting this event together for us and it would be great to see some Marines and/or significant others there for support or to get in on the action. “Free admission with Toy or Gift Card donation” and “Tons of Pampered Chef Products to be auctioned off. No bid more than a dollar”.
• The next meeting will be on 27 July 2011 at 1930 (7:30pm) at the Collinsville VFW post.
Catsup Bottle Festival
We will have a booth setup at the Collinsville Catsup Bottle Festival. Drop by and say hello!!!
June Marine Corps League Meeting
The next Marine Corp League meeting will be held at the Collinsville VFW on June 22nd at 7:30 PM. We hope to see you there. Semper Fidelis!!!

State Membership Award
A few members from Detachment 74 attended the Department of Illinois State Convention in Carbondale, IL. During the convention we received recognition for the best membership increase in the state during the last year! Our detachment will have it’s name added to the traveling plaque and we get to keep it for a year! Thank you to all of our Marines for the hard work that made this happen!!!! ===> SEMPER FIDELIS <===
Memorial Day
Marine Corps League members from Detachment 74 participated in the Collinsville Memorial Day Parade with both a color guard and a vehicle. We are honored to help honor and remember our fallen veterans!
May Marine Corps League
May’s Marine Corps League meeting has been rescheduled for June 1st due to inclement weather last week. The meeting will be held at the Collinsville VFW and starts at 7:30pm.
May BBQ on the 7th.

It’s time again the May BBQ will be on the 7th at the Collinsville VFW Post 5691. We will target 1pm or 1300 for chow time. Then sometime after the auction. Don’t forget to bring a covered dish AND an item for the auction. Originally for the 30th of April, but many conflicts lead to the change.
